Endorsement Information
WAHSDA is committed to meeting and considering candidates who are invested in making our communities flourish for Washington’s high school students.

To qualify for an official WAHSDA endorsement, your campaign must meet our core criteria:
​
1) You are filed as a Democrat, or you are running for a nonpartisan seat.Â
2) Your Campaign is for a  School Board, State, or Federal race. WAHSDA is fully volunteer and youth-run and thus tries to limit our bandwidth via these parameters.

Can I still be involved in WAHSDA if my campaign doesn't fit the criteria for an endorsement?
​
We’re excited to connect with candidates, even when endorsement isn’t possible. Our goal is to help our members and communities thrive in our local and state democracy. We are always looking for ways for our members to participate in campaigns, volunteer, and gain experience in standing up for democracy. If you would like to have a high school intern on your campaign or if you are planning a door-knocking event to engage high school students, please email us at wahsda@gmail.com
What are the benefits of a WAHSDA Endorsement?

Applying for and endorsement allows WAHSDa to volunteer with your campaign and support outreach efforts. Members partake in canvassing, phonebanking, and more for the candidates we endorse. Filing for endorsement also demonstrates a strong committment to empowering the next generation of civic leaders within the Democratic Party.
Is there a deadline to apply for an endorsement?

Yes, the deadline for the 2026 election cycle is July 1st for primary elections and September 25th for general elections. For specfic circumstances, please emailÂ
